Yesterday I resorted to wearing my hoody – it was grey and raining and I just wanted to snuggle up in bed but the next best option was my striped hoody. Not very #1940sglamour at all! This got me to thinking about what women wore on ‘hoody days’ in the ’40s……and it seems that wearing trousers was as casual as it got. There are some lovely clothing patterns over at Sense and Sensibility Patterns that show just how fitted and tailored clothing was the vogue even for casual wear.
So, 1940s swing trousers with a little knitted cardigan and head scarf is a lovely alternative to a hoody, so why not try it out!
There are lots of places to buy 1940s style trousers such as Heyday Online and Vivien of Holloway……
1940s headscarves are in vogue for music videos…..
Beyonce – Why don’t you love me?
And the trouser/headscarf look is just so cute!
I think I need to shop!
And even whilst we’re getting ready………..
Keep your pecker up! xx
I wear this kind of look most days, wide leg trousers, bandana, teadress. its the perfect relaxed look without resorting to tracksit pants x
That sounds lovely 🙂 xx
wow it’s ’40 head scarf..
I love it!
