A date for your diaries – Saturday 26th May 11am – 5pm. Otto Retro with Crikey It’s Vintage are putting on a Vintage Jubilee inspired tea party in parternship with lots of craft and retro sellers. It’s going to be a really fun event, with a retro furniture show room and the stalls are all amazing! We would love to see you!

Crikey Mother It’s Vintage Event 10th March 2012

• A bookable burlesque ‘stocking  removal’ workshop, hosted by Lady Lace.

• Jive dance performances.

Bringing my Vintage Nail Parlour to the party

Bringing my Vintage Nail Parlour to the fair is a great thing to be asked to do, and my VE day  party theme seems perfect for the job.

The parlour is a combination of free nail care gifts, postcards, vintage edition books, and vintage manicure kits for sale, pin up art work, and of course a professional nail bar to have your vintage nail art applied.

I have created a range of vintage designs that evoke the glamour of the Hollywood icon era:  fast drying, and long lasting and extremely stylish!

These designs will not take as long as it takes to do your Victory Rolls, and they will be a great thrill to you for days!

1940s glamour in Devon and Cornwall, UK

After recently being asked if I could recommend a hair salon that would do ‘good’ Victory rolls (thanks @Mookey316!) I thought it was high time that I took a little perusal around my location and checked out some subscribers to the vintage community.

Here’s what I did:

I went to “Crikey It’s Vintage and Handmade Haven“ in Exeter

I searched Twitter  I am not ashamed to say that I love Twitter. I have made some lovely Tweeps, some of whom I’ve had the pleasure of meeting up with, and others that I am hoping to get together with for a little TweetUp tea party…

I asked around amongst beauty types for a hair salon that could perform the necessary ‘Victory’ magic….

‘Crikey It’s Vintage’ Saturday 19th November

A Vintage event in Exeter as featured in Vintage Life Magazine! I’ll be popping along to this with a view to taking part in the pop up parlour on their next event in the New Year 2012.  I’ll be going along to meet the girls and enjoy all the event has to offer…..so see you there!

Entry from 11am closing time 5pm The Thistle Hotel, Exeter

£1 Entry which includes, 20 quality vintage clothes sellers, 10 jewellery, hair accessory’s and miliners, 25 further stalls of vintage wares, vintage inspired gifts and fantastic handmade goodies! A vintage clothes fashion show, and some entertainment in the form of signing, dancing with a 1940′s feel.

Our first event in Exeter The Exeter Vintage and Handmade Fair attracted a crowd of over 1000 people! So guess what, we are going to put on another vintage event!
‘Crikey Its Vintage” is a one day celebration of all things vintage and handmade! It’s a £1 entry and that includes a vintage and vintage inspired fashion show, entry to the Handmade Haven Bazaar, and all the wonderful soon to be announced entertainment!

Room 1 – ‘Crikey It’s Vintage’ We are putting on a vintage fashion show complete with bazaar, (times to be confirmed).  Not only will you lucky vintage loving people get to see the clothes modeled you will also have the opportunity own them yourself, from 20 good quality local vintage clothes stall holders! We also have 10 further stalls of accessories and jewellery for your to ponder in aw over, go on treat yourself!
We have a local hair stylist styling our models with vintage hair styles.  The public will also have the opportunity to have beauty treatments, from the pop up beauty parlor.   We also have a retro fashion shoot for anyone wanting who fancies dressing up and posing for a photoshoot.  Look out for details of how to book!
Then there is the entertainment, one of the acts is the local Exmouth based re-enactment group Blitz and Peaces, to give you that nostalgia feeling of the 1940′s I promise you are going to love it! Keep your eyes peeled, for acts, music and dancing still to be announced!
Room 2 – ‘Handmade Haven’ Here you will find over 25 local stall holders with vintage wares and vintage inspired handmade loveliness! Why not come and have a browse, or buy a unique Christmas gift!
Don’t forget we are also supporting the brilliant charity ‘The Woman’s Land Army Tribute’  this group of lovely ladies is raising money towards a permanent national memorial to celebrate the Women involved in the land army during the great wars.  Its such a worthwhile charity, paving the way for many of the freedom’s and rights that we enjoy today!
